What to Expect During Roofing
We realize any service work on your home or business needs to be done with the upmost care and concern for you and your property. And your concern that we leave behind a safe and very clean work place.
The typical steps involved in a roof replacement or repair work are:
Visit to inspect your roof, show you our license and discuss your roofing needs and options.
Provide an estimate and determine any special needs - (e.g. for Homeowners Assoc.)
Provide to you a written contract and also get your signature for any required permits.
Agree on a payment schedule, start date and material delivery schedule.
Commence Work:
Remove old roof surface and drip edge (as needed and as the weather permits). This is hard manual labor (and in the summer its worse) and it often requires a portable dumpster on site for the duration of the job.
Removing the old roofing material reveals for the 1st time any damaged wood that may need to be replaced (the cost is specified in your contract). This is our only unknown cost at contract time.
Replace sub-roof sheeting as needed - Don't worry it's usually not expensive.
Detail clean the roof in prep for the new roof.
Re-nail the entire exposed roofing section. Yes, its noisy during this work time :-)
Install new underlayment material on roof.
Re-install new metal edging and valleys. This is where the skill and experience of our roofers pays-off.
Install new shingles (or tile or metal). We'll be making more noise :-)
Roofers do a lot of detailed work at this time. Sealing and directing water flow around skylight, valleys, exhaust pipes and vents etc.
Complete work and prepare for county inspector.
CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN.... up after ourselves.

Re: Roofing Maintenance Agreement, for the building located at....
Scope of Work:
1. Complete roof inspection, of flat and shingle roofs.
RSG uses the latest technology (infrared inspection technology) to find
problems and fix them fast.
2. Clean roof of debris and, including broom cleaning areas where dirt and dust
accumulates from ponding water.
3. Inspect and clean drains of debris, and re-secure drain fasteners if necessary.
If drains are blocked below the roof line, the purchaser will be advised.
4. Inspect and Repair flashings at all penetrations and curbs including pipes,
skylights, walls, etc..
5. Inspect seams in the roof field and expansion joints and repair as necessary.
6. Resecure loose sheet metal items and reseal of cracked or missing caulk joints.
7. Advise the Purchaser of any repairs exceeding the scope of this agreement.
Price per Inspection & Repair: starts at $199
Terms of Payment:
1. If it is determined, after the inspection, that the repair work will exceed the above
stated price, then no work will be performed. Instead a detailed proposal will
be provided for the repairs.
2. A detailed report will be provided with the invoice indicating the areas of the
roof which were repaired.
3. Payment is due not more than 30 days after completion of each inspection
and repair.
4. Early termination of this agreement will carry a $150.00 charge, which is
NOT a penalty but is the cost savings of this maintenance agreement versus
an individual inspection.
Scheduling:
1. Notice will be given at least 24 hours before arriving at the site.
2. Roof Inspection & Repair to occur Spring & Fall.
Details of Agreement:
1. This agreement carries a term of one year and will automatically renew each year.
2. This agreement can be cancelled at any time by the purchaser after the first year
with written notice to RSG.
3. RSG may adjust the price per Inspection & Repair after the first year by giving the
purchaser written notice of the increase.
4. Emergency Roof Repairs 24/7 Emergency Services.
